Music Intent

We follow the Leicestershire Music Service scheme of work. This covers six key areas which are pulse, voice/singing, rhythm, pitch, 20th century music and technology and structure. All year groups cover these key areas with a progression in skills across each year group. Our music curriculum is embellished with other musical opportunities such as private instrumental lessons (piano, guitar, ukulele, clarinet, saxophone, recorder), private singing lessons and an opportunity to take part in the school choir.

The children also come together to sing at the village fayre, community concerts and play Christmas carols to entertain the residents at Residential Home in the neighbouring village.

We have recently been awarded the Bronze award for our music provision and aim to achieve the Silver award by July 2024.
