Music Intent

We follow the Leicestershire Music Service scheme of work. This covers six key areas which are pulse, voice/singing, rhythm, pitch, 20th century music and technology and structure. All year groups cover these key areas with a progression in skills across each year group. Our music curriculum is embellished with other musical opportunities such as private instrumental lessons (piano, guitar, ukulele, clarinet, saxophone, recorder), private singing lessons and an opportunity to take part in the school choir.

We also buy into the Whole Class Ensemble Tuition (WCET) through Leicestershire Music Service which enables KS2 children to have whole class instrumental lessons. In the past they have had the opportunity to learn the ukulele, brass instruments, violin/viola and try their hand at drumming. The children also sing at the village fayre and play Christmas carols to entertain the residents at Residential Home in the neighbouring village.
