Governance
Welcome from the Chair of the Governors
We offer a caring and supportive Christian environment to those of all faiths and none, where every child is valued and encouraged to achieve their full potential; intellectually, socially, emotionally and spiritually. We have a very motivated and experienced staff team who are continually striving to improve the school. Our Governing Body, which oversees the delivery of education in the round, is highly skilled and enjoys a strong working relationship with the staff. Governors are dedicated to ensuring that Thrussington School continues to maintain its excellent reputation.
We are a member of a Learn Academies Trust (Learn-AT). Learn-AT has a Board of Trustees and Members who are responsible for overseeing all of the schools in the Trust. For more information about the Trustees please see Learn-AT’s website. Our Local Governing Body (or Local Trust Committee) works on behalf of the Trust Board in these key areas:
1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction within the school.
2. Acting as a critical friend to the school; holding the school’s team to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils and the performance management of staff.
3. Assuring Health and Safety procedures within their school.
It is the responsibility of the Headteacher and staff to guide and advise Governors, implement the plans and deliver the curriculum. We are proud of our partnership arrangements and in particular we have strong links with our village church which hosts the school’s Harvest, Christmas and Easter services, as well as other assemblies throughout the school year.
Above all it is a happy school where the wellbeing of both children and staff is highly valued.
