Admissions
Our children are from a wide area, not just from the village. Applications are always welcome from children living outside the designated catchment area.
Please see below for more information on how and when to apply.
Mid-Term Admissions
For midterm transfers, please apply via the Learn Academies Trust admissions portal at apply.learnat.uk. The school no longer processes midterm admissions through the Local Authority. If you have any questions or require assistance with your application, please contact the school office.
We fully participate in the Local Authority's coordinated admissions scheme. As per the School Admissions Code, all admitting authorities must aim to inform parents of their decision within 10 school days, and it is mandatory that a decision is communicated within 15 school days.
If you would like to book a school tour, please email the office - office@tps.learnat.uk
Appeals
ā
The Leicester Diocesan Board of Education (DBE) are responsible for handling all appeals at Learn Academies Trust. They provide an independent, professional Schools Appeals Service dedicated to ensuring that all admission appeal hearings are heard fairly, equally and within the law. More details can be found on their website. The Appeal Service Dates for 2025-2026 can be found via the link below.

Starting School
Our School has a real family feel. We want to make sure that our new pupils feel safe and happy. During the term before they join us, we invite new children to spend several half-day sessions with us to learn classroom routines, the layout of the School and to make new friends.
For the first three weeks your child is with us, they will also do a mixture of morning or afternoon sessions. This phased approach will help the children settle in and get used to the school day.
Before Starting School
The information below tells you what will happen in the terms before your child starts school.
| Spring Term |
Home visits |
Pre-school/Nursery visits |
Activity afternoons |
| Our Nursery Nurse will be in contact with you to obtain pre-school information. Early contact can be made with preschools or nurseries to ensure a smooth transition. | We can discuss the things your child is looking forward to, any worries or concerns. We also discuss the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, Learning Journey folders, and have a look at our induction booklet. | We visit each child in their own, familiar setting; children therefore get used to seeing us. We are also given the opportunity to discuss each child with their key worker and any relevant information is passed on. | We invite our new pupils to several activity afternoons at the school before starting in September. This gives them an insight into the school day. |
