Ethos Values & Vision
Our Christian Ethos
Recognising its historic foundation, our School will preserve and
develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with our Parish Church of Holy Trinity, Thrussington and the Leicester Diocese. Our School serves our community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. We encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promote Christian values through the experience we offer to all our pupils.
For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29: 11
Our Values
Our values are built from consultation with our pupils, parents, staff and governors and with care and guidance from our local Church and the Diocese of Leicester.

The Parable of the Good Samaritan
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, love your neighbour as yourself.
Luke 10: 25-37
We fundraise for many charities throughout the year: British Legion, Children in Need, Young Minds and Comic Relief to name but a few. We also fundraise for our partner school in the Philippines. The children learn from and enjoy the projects, whilst also raising money for worthwhile causes.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
So Joshua ordered the officers of the people: Go through the camp and tell the people, ‘Get your provisions ready. Three days from now you will cross the Jordan here to go in and take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you for your own.
Joshua 1: 9-11

Praise to God for a Living Hope
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.
Peter 1:3-6
Hope by Emily, Gia, Daisy and Maisey

Remember that I have commanded you to be determined and confident! Don’t be afraid or discouraged for I, the Lord your God, am with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
Matthew 18: 20
We are proud of our place in our local community. The school is well supported by the villagers of Thrussington and beyond. In turn, the children and staff are intrinsic to the life of the village. We have a strong PTFA and Governing Board made up of members from the surrounding areas to the school, including parents and carers. Community events include: Autumn Fayre and Scarecrow trail, Fun Run, Christmas Nativity and tree lighting ceremony - to name but a few!

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
Matthew 7: 12

Our Vision
Our vision is a passionate commitment to learning and recognition of the uniqueness of the individual. We are driven by our desire to ensure all children achieve their best in a respectful and trusting environment, in partnership with parents, the Church and our community. As one big family.
Holy Trinity Church
The oldest part of our church dates back to the 13th century. in 1877 the church was restored and the pews are from this period. The font is octagonal and is circa 14th century. The church is built from Ironstone with a Swithland slate roof. If you look up to the top of the tower, you can see the gargoyles that keep watch over the church.
The Reverend Stirling Gahan was the vicar at Thrussington from 1923 to 1959. The Reverend Gahan is noted for sharing Holy Communion with Nurse Edith Cavell prior to her execution during World War I for helping allied troops escape occupied Belgium. He is buried in the churchyard just beyond the door of the church. His grave was restored in 2015 with a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The school holds various events in the church with Harvest Festival and the Christmas Nativity among them.
